Where we get our support

By far, our three greatest sources of funds for our services are individual donations, local fund-raising and the support of corporations and charitable trusts.

Why do organisations support CancerBACUP?

Ladbrokes logo

Our partnership with CancerBACUP has changed markedly since we started sponsoring events. Now we are informing our staff about the services available for people affected by cancer and how to access them, so the benefits are multiplying.

Christopher Bell, Managing Director, Ladbrokes Racing Limited

KPMG logo

CancerBACUP provides a unique and vital service to those living with cancer in the UK. Through its Give As You Earn Scheme, KPMG and its staff are dedicated to support this work. The money KPMG staff have given will fund the answering of 4,500 enquiries during the forthcoming year.

"One in three of us should expect to be diagnosed with a form of cancer at some time in their life. I can attest that, for those who experience this, the initial shock is great. Fortunately the human spirit is strong, and most of us move on to wanting to know what our treatment will involve, how we will feel, what we will be able to do - as well as of course the unknowable 'Am I going to die?' Those close to us want answers to these questions too. I, like many others in my position, turned to CancerBACUP. I knew of the charity through a local fundraising event, and I looked for the website; for many other people the national phone information service, staffed by experienced nurses, is their first contact.

"Fear of cancer and the lack of information are almost as damaging to patients as the disease itself. CancerBACUP can address these, leaving the hospitals free to concentrate on treatment."

To all of these companies, we owe more than a debt of gratitude, we owe our complete commitment to providing the best possible services to the widest number of people in the most cost-effective manner.

CancerBACUP may not be a business, but in these respects we believe it's important to behave as if we were.

Without the generous, enlightened support of these companies and trusts, CancerBACUP would simply not exist:
