The following statement of aims was agreed at the first Working Party Meeting on 31st October 1984.
- Establish a comprehensive Cancer Information Service by telephone and mail
- Provide a comprehensive range of educational information leaflets
- Produce a quarterly newspaper to communicate regularly with cancer patients and their families and friends
- Cooperate with other cancer organisations with similar interests in relation to patients but without sacrificing BACUP's uniqueness.
