Clinical Advisory Board

Terms of reference

The Clinical Advisory Board meets three times a year, usually at Cancerbackup's London offices. Membership of the Board will last for a term of three years which is renewable twice.

The primary aim of the Clinical Advisory Board (CAB) is to ensure that Cancerbackup's information is clinically accurate and up-to-date in order to meet the needs of people affected by cancer. To meet this aim the remit of the Clinical Advisory Board is:

  • To advise on the strategic development of information resources - in all formats.
  • To ensure the medical and clinical accuracy of all forms of information provided by Cancerbackup.
  • To advise Cancerbackup on developments occurring in specific areas of cancer treatment or care, so that Cancerbackup can best represent the interests of people with cancer to health care providers, support services and governmental agencies.
  • To provide expert opinion on issues relating to the diagnosis, treatment and care of people affected by cancer, in order to maintain and improve the medical accuracy and user accessibility of Cancerbackup's services, publications and website.
