1. I have just had a mammogram and the specialist said it showed microcalcification. What does this mean?

2. My sister in law had breast cancer and only had the lump removed. I've been told I have to have a mastectomy for pre-cancer of the breast. Why do I need more treatment than she does when I don't have actual cancer?

3. I had a routine mammogram last month and was recalled because it was abnormal. I have now had a biopsy and have been told I have DCIS. My surgeon is in favour of my having a mastectomy but is prepared to do a lumpectomy if I really want it. Am I taking a big risk if I ask for a lumpectomy?
