The information in the acute myeloid leukaemia information centre is based on the Cancerbackup booklet, Understanding acute myeloid leukaemia, which has been produced in accordance with the following sources and guidelines:
- Guidelines on the management of acute myeloid leukaemia in adults. British Committee for Standards in Haematology. Br J Htol 2006; 135: 450-74
- Acute myeloid leukaemia. Estey E, Dohner H. Lancet 2006; 368: 1894-907
- Improving Outcomes in Haemato-oncology Cancer. National Institute for Clinical Excellence (NICE), October 2003.
Guidelines are constantly being updated and those noted above may have been revised since the booklet was produced. You can access up-to-date guidelines in the health professionals section of the website.
