Other menopausal symptoms

Dry skin

Bath oils and moisturiser can help to moisturise the skin

Insomnia

Intermittent sleeplessness is a common menopausal symptom. Suggestions for combating this include a tepid bath before bedtime, hot herbal drinks and lightweight absorbent nightwear.

Psychological effects

These are among the most difficult symptoms to manage. It can be helpful to find time specifically to relax each day, and to make lists if experiencing forgetfulness. A number of organisations can offer support (Daisy Chain, the Amarant Trust and the National Osteoporosis Society).
