Summary

It is established that many cancer treatments can compromise fertility. However, advances in reproductive technology and developments in fertility preservation methods mean that options are increasing for people who wish to have a child after cancer treatment.

Much is still unknown and more data is needed to evaluate the efficacy and safety of the newer approaches. There are also moral and ethical issues to be considered which have not been addressed here.
