Concluding comments

Early prostate cancer continues to provide many management challenges for clinicians and dilemmas about treatment for patients.

Together with research into the role of screening, key aims for the future include finding better ways of identifying which men need treatment and which men can safely avoid treatment, further refinement and evaluation of current treatments and the development of novel, possibly less toxic therapies.
