If you're keen to follow in the footsteps of some of the world's most successful athletes and join the thousands of fun-runners raising money for charity in the Great North Run on 1st October 2006, then Cancerbackup has a limited number of guaranteed entries available to the event.

"This is a great chance for those who do not yet have a ticket for this hugely popular event to get out off their starting blocks and sprint into one of the biggest events of its kind - and raise money for Cancerbackup," says Jo Douglas, Cancerbackup Community and Events Fundraising Manager.

By taking part you can raise money for a charity dedicated to providing anyone affected by cancer with the kind of support, information and understanding many people find crucial at a time of fear and anxiety in their lives.

As well as providing detailed information through its multi-award winning website (www.cancerbackup.org.uk) its freephone helpline (0808 800 1234 - manned by specialist cancer nurses) its walk-in centres or through its information booklets and factsheets, Cancerbackup helps tens-of-thousands of people to cope with the disease every year.
