Positive decision on breast cancer drugs will help thousands, says Cancerbackup

11 August 2006

"Today's final decision by NICE to approve aromatase inhibitors for the treatment of breast cancer is good news for many post-menopausal women with early stage, oestrogen receptor-positive breast cancer", says Kimberlea Hardwick, Cancerbackup Senior Nurse. "This group of drugs has been found to have clinical benefits to those with this type of breast cancer and adds another important treatment choice for clinicians and their patients."
