National Breast Implant Registry

Aims to record the use of all types of breast implant on a prospective basis: usually the surgeon registers on the patient's behalf at time of operation. There is also a voluntary retrospective register for registrations of procedures carried out before the launch of the Registry in July 1993 - if patients wish to register for this, they should contact the Registry directly. They are also seeking to record numbers of breast implants removed, whether replaced or not. Registrations are received from both public and private sectors. There is no mandate that patients be registered.
