Overlapping symptoms

The emotional effects of cancer can sometimes cause physical symptoms such as a sensation of a lump in the throat, chest pain, a dry mouth, breathlessness, or feeling sick. People often worry that these physical symptoms are due to the cancer or its treatment. It can sometimes be difficult to tell what is causing the symptoms and this can make you even more worried.

If you have any symptoms and you are not sure what is causing them it is best to talk to your cancer specialist, GP, specialist nurse or the nurses at Cancerbackup who will be able to reassure you. If necessary, your doctors can do tests to find out what is causing the symptoms.
