It is absolutely OK to continue enjoying sex during chemotherapy. Neither of you will come to any harm.
Although one piece of advice that some specialists offer is to use a condom for 24-48 hours after chemotherapy. This is to prevent a woman being exposed to the very slight risk of small doses of chemotherapy drugs which may be in the sperm. Also couples are advised to avoid getting pregnant during chemotherapy, as the drugs may harm the developing foetus, and for a few months afterwards.
It is understandable to feel embarrassed about asking your medical team sensitive questions like this but rest assured they will be anxious to ensure you have the best possible quality of life and peace of mind during treatment so do not hesitate to discuss any questions or uncertainties that you have with them. They will understand.
