Surgery for lymphoedema

It is rare for surgery to be used for lymphoedema, although it may sometimes be used to reduce swelling around the face or genital areas.

Surgery to an affected arm or leg will not mean that you can do without the other types of treatment described in this section. You will need to continue with these treatments after your operation.
