Your concern about passing on infections to your mum while she is having chemotherapy in understandable. However, as your daughter had her infection a month ago, and you have not been affected, it should be safe for you to visit your mother.
A few days after the skin rash, caused by chickenpox, appears crusts form over the spots, or blisters, on the skin. Chickenpox is infectious from two days before the skin rash appears and until these crusts have formed.
The risk of chickenpox infecting someone comes from direct contact with an infected person while the chickenpox is at the infectious stage. Contact with chickenpox or shingles means being in the same room as someone with the infection for more than 15 minutes, or any face to face contact with them, such as talking to them.
