Breast reconstruction

This section is for women who have had – or are about to have – breast surgery, and are considering whether to have breast reconstruction. It aims to help you understand what breast reconstruction is and the possible benefits and problems you might expect from this type of surgery.

Every woman's needs are different. So only you – together with your doctor and any family and friends you want to involve – can decide what might be best for you. Give yourself plenty of time to weigh up the potential benefits and disadvantages of breast reconstruction before deciding what you want to do.
